Green Software Association

Since January 1, we have been a member of the German Green Software Association (Bundesverband Green Software).

The advancing digitalization of all areas of life also has its downsides. For example, hardware and software solutions consume considerable resources. Servers and digital end devices contain various rare earths and metals, and their production is costly and consumes a lot of energy. At the same time, modern (AI) applications require ever more powerful data centers and end devices. Digital technologies create a huge footprint - it is estimated that communication and information technologies are already responsible for almost 5% of total CO2 emissions - and the trend is rising sharply.

The German Green Software Association is committed to designing software applications in such a way that they use natural resources as sparingly as possible or rely on solutions that have been developed in accordance with green software standards.
